The Temporal Lobe forms the posterior axis of the cerebral hemispheres from the ventral view. The cerebellum of the hindbrain and the occipital lobe both lie posterior to the temporal lobes, whereas the frontal lobes lie anterior to the temporal lobes. The placement of the frontal and occipital lobes relative to the temporal lobes, however, is best seen from a lateral view. This lateral view and additional information on the cortex of the temporal lobe is provided in Tutorial 21.
