This online glossary of psychological terms has been developed by Dr. David Polson of the University of Victoria, and Dr. Alan Le Boeuf, Dr. Simita Schwarzberg and Dr. Lyle K. Grant of Athabasca University with the technical assistance of Dean Mah and Harry Long Athabasca University. Additional web design and coding by Lorna Brown of Athabasca University. This glossary consists of over 1000 key terms in common use in psychology. For each term, where applicable, we have defined the term, provided a concrete example, provided background information about the term, included suggestions for further reading associated with the term and have provided a one- or two-item interactive multiple-choice quiz over the term. Inclusion of all these elements provides considerably more detailed and in-depth treatment than is typical of a glossary of terms.
