Muscles to move the eyes: When we detect a novel or interesting event, one of the visual pathways will contract muscles to move the eyes in a direction that will allow for maximum processing of the event. We need to fixate or look directly at an object for detailed analysis of that object. This (secondary) visual pathway will be discussed in Figure 16.
